In the meantime, our movement continues to gain momentum, with local politicians, former administrators, parents, community members and SCSD staff all coming forward, asking what they can do to help.
But, we still need MORE people.
If you are afraid, remember there is safety in being public. The true danger lies in the shadows. The local press is closely watching what transpires, ready to pounce if anyone who is prominent in the movement is retaliated against, even in the most subtle ways... And with hundreds of staff members involved in the movement, there is no way that all can be "punished."
I notice with interest that Assemblyman Sam Roberts is missing from your contact info. Although he is probably planning a run for mayor, his constituent services leave much to be desired. When I wrote to him about the Board of Regents, I received a grammatically incorrect email saying that the "Assemblyman was aware, but would not attend because he would be in Albany in session." ??????? If I'm not mistaken, the vote is in Albany during session. On the other hand, Dave Valesky's office not only emailed me several times, but has sent personalized letters on every issue on which I have contacted him. Still, it might be useful (?) to put Robert's contact information up there as well. He does represent the city.
