Another Incident at Lincoln!

How many more incidents will it take before parents rise up and say "Enough!" A thirteen-year-old CHILD was in school with a knife today, for heaven's sake!

Are we going to wait until the weapon is a gun?
Until someone is shot?
Until someone is dead?

  1. My guess would be the administrator took it until dismissal. It would not surprise me if he/she got it back at the end of the day!

  2. I remember when we got in trouble for bringing gum to school and that's no joke. But then that was the same time parents could and did discipline the children. Teachers also were able to control us. We were afraid to talk back to either our parents or other adults. That doesn't mean we didn't want to say something but we knew bettter

  3. I read about this incident on syracuse. com. According to the comments, there were two other schools that had critical incidents today. Does anyone have any information regarding the incidents at Porter and Grant?

    1. There are people investigating the incident at Grant. Regarding the incident(s) at Porter, these will most likely NEVER see the light of day. Why? Because the Syracuse City School District's Executive Director of Talent Management (and Contreras BFF) has installed their husband at Porter as a kindergarten teacher - albeit, an allegedly uncertified one. We have heard from numerous sources that this was a condition of hire for the Executive Director of Talent Management before he would agree to come to Syracuse.

  4. And where is the Post Standard on this one? They're all over the mayor and county executive when they make "unqualified" hires, but Contreras goes around hiring significant others and spouses without a blink from the media. Hey, folks, that's OUR tax money being poured down the drain, but we NEVER investigate SCSD spending. Why is she a sacred cow?

  5. So much goes on everyday that doesn't see the light of day. If I didn't run the risk of being blacklisted, I'd be delighted to share stories. Someone needs to air the dirty laundry. Hopefully that will happen with the amount of retirements this year. The community really needs parents or concerned citizens like each of you need to be in the schools. You have more power than the teachers to make a change in the district. Look what North Syracuse School District did to their former Superintendent. She was a Broad Street Academy graduate just like Contreras.

  6. There were several (5-6) students suspended to formal hearings for having knives and mace at Danforth this week!

  7. How come nobody knows about this?

  8. At some schools you can be found with weapons and not be suspended. This is against FEDERAL EDUCATIONAL LAW
