Trying to Convert Rumors into Facts

What do you know about an incident at Corcoran? One involving basketball players, threats to a coach and his family, and a brave kid who stood up for the coach and has now been moved to private school because his parents were concerned about his safety... Many of you think this story needs to be told - publicly. We have contacts who are ready to tell the story, but we need facts. If you have them, please email us. Nothing will be released without your approval. Let this story be told!

  1. This is not a rumor ask any Corcoran teacher about it. The only thing is fales is the bus driver did not call 911. The net school day all three were in school and could not be suspended right away, but teachers refused to allow them in their classes. Also all three players had 5 day formal hearing, but only one was told not to come back.

  2. Why doesn't somebody call someone connected to Corcoran so we can find out the truth!

  3. This is not a rumor. We need to bring this story out to the public as a example of the dysfunction of the SCSD . Most importantly, we ALL need to stand with/by this coach as a WHOLE for what he went through and we need to say, "WE are not going to take this." We need to tell the coach, we are with you. I can not imagine what the coach must have gone through that night on the bus.

  6. There should be cameras on the bus! Why can't somebody ask to see them?

  8. Absolutely NOT a rumor. What happened on that bus was terrifying for the coach, bus driver and the kids not involved. Parents of one student were told repeatedly when they contacted school board members that they had to treat this as a "learning experience". That must be the company line because more than one member said it. On mom called the Superintendents office twice to discuss the situation and never received a return call.

  9. This should be covered under DASA re the student being bullied by other students for standing up to other students who threatened the coach. Report incident to the NY State Department of Education if district fails to investigate and take action.

  10. True event. There's great pressure not to suspend anyone for anything, and the kids know it. Building environment the worst in 15 years...

  11. This is the worst story I have heard coming out of this nightmare of a school district. What a terrifying event. This really should be made public, although it did happen a while ago now.
